Hour 1–24

Use backup equipment safely

Keep generators and fuel-burning cooking equipment outdoors and away from doors, windows and vents.
Review your household's food, water, temperature and medical-device needs.

Day 2–3

Review your supplies

Check on household members and follow local restoration and safety advice.
Make a list of used supplies to replace when services return.
