Faraday shielding degrades over time with mechanical stress and environmental exposure; inspect seams and signal-blocking fabric regularly for damage. Does NOT provide general EMP protection (shielding limited to RF frequencies, not magnetic pulse). Will not protect against keypad or physical lock bypass. Effective only if the fob stays inside when the vehicle is parked.

Field notes

• Test the shielding monthly: place the fob in the pouch and attempt remote unlock from 10 feet. No response confirms signal block.
• Do not fold or crease the shielding fabric repeatedly—creases degrade the Faraday grid. Store flat or rolled loosely.
• In vehicles with keypad entry, use the pouch when parked; retrieve the fob only when actively entering or starting. Relay attackers scan parking areas—they move on if the signal never appears.

Q: Does this block all RF signals? A: It blocks key fob RF frequencies (315MHz and 433MHz). Does not provide general EMP or broadband RF protection—it is designed specifically for relay-attack prevention.

Q: Can I use this in the car while driving? A: No. The pouch blocks the signal, so store the fob outside the pouch when actively using the vehicle. Remove from pouch when entering, replace when parked.

Q: Will it survive a grid-down scenario? A: Yes. Faraday shielding is purely physical—no power required. The fabric remains functional indefinitely if stored dry and protected from physical damage.
