Built to last

316 stainless steel wire mesh woven into a glove structure provides Grade 5 cut resistance—rated to resist slashes from sharp objects. The steel is durable and will not rust quickly, but the weave can snag on sharp protrusions and tear if caught. The sizing is tight to the hand; if you wear them over a liner glove, choose a size up. Once sized for your hand, they fit consistently. Washing by hand is recommended; machine washing can tangle and deform the mesh. They are not suitable for high-temperature work (metal is an excellent heat conductor; anything above 60°C will burn through the thin material). This is hand protection for cutting and scraping, not for fire handling or electrical work.

Field notes

• Size the gloves snugly around your hand. Too loose and they slip off during work; too tight and they restrict blood flow and cause hand fatigue. Wrap a test piece around your wrist and hand before committing to a size.
• The buckle closure is critical—strap it tight but not tourniqueting. A loose glove will catch on a tool handle or saw blade. Check it before each work session.
• After cutting or heavy work, inspect the mesh for punctures or damaged areas. The Grade 5 rating holds up, but once a glove is compromised, protection is compromised. Small tears can be spot-welded by a metal shop; most are beyond home repair.

Q: What does Grade 5 cut resistance mean? Grade 5 is an ANSI (American National Standards Institute) rating. It means the glove resists cuts from sharp edges and will not be easily slashed by normal tool work. Grade 5 is the standard for forest and field use. Higher grades (up to Grade 9) exist for more severe environments.

Q: Can I use these for wet work or in water? Yes, the steel won't rust quickly. Stainless steel is slow to corrode but not immune. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater or prolonged wet exposure and dry them thoroughly. Moisture in the weave can cause minor corrosion over months if not dried.
